Get to know June Kon

June joined the coop at the end of 2001. She began as a participant of the parent-child program and traveled a classic co-op route: volunteering, then paid work in small projects, then part-time admin assistant. After the coop got the funding from CFS for an office, she started to work there part-time and then started facilitating the parenting programs and eventually became a broker.

Starting from 2008/9 June joined MFRS our sister organization, and became the coordinator for their parent-child program. Her work at the coop presently involves facilitating the Chinese Parenting program and doing some brokering work.  She is also involved in different projects from time to time. e.g Perinatal health, Health for two, School Projects and Co-op events.June2

What she loves about working with MCHB

  • She learns a lot from the programs and the trainings at the coop. She says it’s good for her mental health to be learning and active.
  • She loves passing on everything she has learnt to others and to her community. She feels that it’s very satisfying and happy work and it makes her happy!
  • Lydia Yip and Miranda Fung are her mentors and inspiration.
