Multicultural Family Connection Program

We reach out to families who have children from newborn to 6 years of age. Our objective is to support these families with knowledge, skills and connections relevant to parenting and early childhood development.

“I am learning from the people in my community. We are learning from them, and they are learning from me.”

– Kiki, Multicultural Health Broker.

We host mutual support groups for parents, and facilitate timely connections between families and services and resources within formal systems and their own ethno-cultural communities. Our approach uses holistic and preventative family support, and focuses on building healthy relationships within families.

Our family-oriented program supports each of the 22 cultural communities we serve. Topics are diverse and range from how to dress for Canadian winters to family violence education.

Funding support for the Multicultural Family Connection Program comes from Early Intervention – Edmonton and Area Child & Family Services.
