Family and Child Intervention

The Child and Family Intervention program is centred on creating trusting relationships with families who have become involved in child welfare and collaborating with colleagues at Children Services to provide culturally relevant and family-centred care.

It includes the involvement of culturally-responsive individual and family counselling, bi-cultural parenting, child and youth support, and family mediation during the intervention process. This involvement is guided by the children, youth and families.

We also facilitate mutual learning about culturally-responsive practice and policy development between our Brokers and our Children’s Services colleagues.

We are looking for participants in our study! Please contact Jastinne Diaz at 587-760-3082 or email jastinne@ualberta.ca
