MCHB is running an English for Employment Program for clients with barriers to finding meaningful work in Canada. This program is aimed at newcomers who are residents, citizens, or refugees with positive notice of decision letter, whose language level is at CLB 3. We train clients to acquire the essential skills necessary to work in the hospitality industry, and as such, we have partnered with The Westin Hotel Edmonton to provide an immersive environment of the workplace in this industry. Clients will be trained to work as kitchen helpers, housekeepers, dishwashers and banquet servers, and holistic supports will be available for up to one year after the program ends. For more information about the program or the kind of supports we provide, please call Fransiska Awasis at 780-886-0775 or email at fransiska@mchb.org
